About Chris Carbone
My sales career started over twenty years ago, while I attended Florida State University. After I graduated, my first sales job was within the insurance sector; I sold insurance policies to companies during open enrollment periods and also sold a wide range of policies to individuals. I worked in insurance for a few years until I invariably shifted gears to pursue the intoxicating world of advertising in the largest media city in the country: Manhattan. Sure, I cut my teeth and I most certainly started from the bottom. Fortunately, I was a quick study – I wanted to experience it all. I have worked with print, outdoor, radio, digital, non-traditional media and even started two companies of my own in that 10-year span. It was an great time for certain. Eventually, I stumbled upon the restoration industry (a bit by chance, admittedly) and it was fortuitous that I discovered this lucrative and tremendously exciting industry.
I learned quickly while developing business for my restoration franchise, that my early education working within the insurance industry proved invaluable. It gave me the business vernacular and an insider’s perspective to help me to better understand what motivates insurance agents to act when their personal clients experience water or fire losses. The marketing and advertising education I received allows me to think strategically and implement fresh ideas that are non-traditional & uncommon – enabling me to think ahead of the herd and create differentiation in an otherwise extremely competitive industry. I have been leading discussions and hosting seminars to like-minded restoration and remediation professionals throughout North America. I enjoy the teaching process immensely and if I can save others years of toil by implementing strategies that I have found work best, that puts a smile on my face and keeps me ever-motivated. It bears mentioning as well, that as it turns out, I have a pretty keen sense of humor which helps me tremendously to build rapport and foster relationships. Use the God-given strengths that you have been dealt in life and they will serve you well.
